A Legacy Left
On December 30, 2021, Mr. Ron “Abe” Fitzkee passed, leaving a legacy of dedicated service to his country, state, community, and alma mater. Anyone who knew Abe can attest to his commitment and passion for the Red Lion Area School District. Abe was so much to so many...a husband to Janice, his late wife; a father to Ron and Scott; a brother; a grandfather; an uncle; a leader; a coach; a friend; a mentor; a colleague; a former principal. He was Mr. Red Lion, and what a role model and inspiration he was for us all.
Among his many accomplishments was the establishment of the LEO Club, which he led back in 1980. The initial objective of the LEO Club was to raise funds to supplement the interscholastic athletic program of the Red Lion Area School District. Through the years, Abe was instrumental in the development of the LEO Club’s current mission.
Nobody has ever been or ever will be as synonymous with a community as Abe was with Red Lion. He will always be missed, yet his legacy will live on.
